The gray sky, the haze over the city, the green plants, and no life. The noisy streets and the indifferent faces of people are busy in order to survive. Laughter, heard less and less. Perhaps the cruel reality is that people are overwhelmed. I walked through the city alone, and I didn't want to go all the way without any purpose. I hope to see a little quiet scene.
Mourning is, in the simplest sense, grief over someone's death. The word is also used to describe a cultural complex of behaviours in which the bereaved participate or are expected to participate. Customs vary between cultures and evolve over time, though many core behaviors remain constant.
Wearing black clothes is one practice followed in many countries, though other forms of dress are seen. Those most affected by the loss of a loved one often observe a period of grieving, marked by withdrawal from social events and quiet, respectful behavior. People may follow religious traditions for such occasions.
Mourning may apply to the death of, or anniversary of the death of, an important individual like a local leader, monarch, religious figure, family etc. State mourning may occur on such an occasion. In recent years, some traditions have given way to less strict practices, though many customs and traditions continue to be followed.
The Mourning of Muharram (or Remembrance of Muharram or Muharram Observances) is a set of rituals associated with both Shia and Sunni Islam. The commemoration falls in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. Many of the events associated with the ritual take place in congregation halls known as Hussainia.
The event marks the anniversary of the Battle of Karbala, when Imam Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad, was killed by the forces of the second Umayyad caliph. Family members accompanying him were killed or subjected to humiliation. The commemoration of this event during the yearly mourning season, with the Day of Ashura as the focal date, serves to define Shia communal identity. Muharram observances are carried out in countries with a sizable Shia population.
I observe a lot and I react to my observation by making a photo. What I like the most about this photo is the composition. The turban man with his camel in open ground and the birds flying as if it's coming out of his shoulder.

The title of this photography generally means that a mutual understanding based on respect for others. But in this photo, “Dialogue” means that inner dialogues for understanding myself. I think inner dialogues are very important for making myself clear. And it’s also important to live my own life. I always want to feel that I live my own life, I do inner dialogues every time. When I do inner dialogues, I have a feeling like this photography. I express myself as four buildings and express inner dialogues as moving clouds. This is what I want to express in this photography.
The picture was taken in Berlin, Germany in July 2018. I went to Berlin with a clear idea for a few shots that I wanted to make, but how often happens with street photography, my best shots were the ones that I never planned. I went early in the morning in the heart of the city with the idea to combine the modern architecture with the passing people somehow, luckily enough there was a group of dancers performing near the iconic Marie Elisabeth Luders Haus. I had the perfect combination and took a few pictures, without the performers even noticing me as I was on the opposite bank of the river which passes next to the building. I chose four of those pictures for a short story called "States of Mind", this is the second image from the series.
