Fight for life and death [TOP100]
I have witnessed the combat between and short toed snake eagle and snakes in past but the combat just lasts for few fraction of seconds and the eagle in all majesty dominates the snake every time and makes an easy meal even before we approach them for pictures, however this particular instance the five foot snake was brave enough to fight back and it took multiple attempts for eagle to conquer the snake. It took almost 6 years of patience and perseverance to execute these images under challenging lighting conditions. At the end of the day nature is unpredictable and we were just mere spectators.
Cruel kindness,anUnusual behaviour... [TOP100]
I was a witness to a strange behaviour of the lioness after a pregnant kill.. The lioness went into her usual routine and started feeding on the kill... The unborn womb was outside her abdomen, after her fill she dragged the kill to the safety of a bush.. And as usual walked to get her cubs for the feed.. We were astonished, and stunned when she came back a few steps and picked up the unborn womb and carried it in her mouth for her cubs to feed.. A rare and spine chilling experience, of mixed feeling, sadness for the date of the unborn and love of the mother towards her cubs..
Longhorn beetles couple
The longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae; also known as long-horned or longicorns) are a cosmopolitan family of beetles,[2] typically characterized by extremely long antennae, which are often as long as or longer than the beetle's body. In various members of the family, however, the antennae are quite short and such species can be difficult to distinguish from related beetle families such as the Chrysomelidae. The family is large, with over 26,000 species described, slightly more than half from the Eastern Hemisphere. Several are serious pests. The larvae, called roundheaded borers, bore into wood, where they can cause extensive damage to either living trees or untreated lumber (or, occasionally, to the wood in buildings; the old-house borer, Hylotrupes bajulus, is a particular problem indoors). Some species mimic ants, bees, and wasps, though a majority of species are cryptically coloured.

This is a totally manual process that involves drying of natural jute fiber & finally the coloring of Indian Traditional colorful yarns used for weaving sarees using different colored yarns in different patterns (Indian drapes for women) at village handloom weaving units.
Fishing activity
Fisheries play an important role in the economy of India. India is one of the largest producers of fish, both marine and inland. The fisheries sector provides employment to over 11 million people engaged fully, partially or in subsidiary activities pertaining to the sector, with an equally impressive segment of the population engaged in ancillary activities. Fisheries help in augmenting food supply, generating employment, raising nutritional level and earning foreign exchange. Fish forms an important part of the diet of many people living in the coastal areas of Kerala, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Maharashtra. A fishing community is a community that is substantially dependent on, or substantially engaged in, the harvest or processing of fishery resources to meet social and economic needs; the fishing vessel owners, operators, crew and fish processors that are based in such a community. . Here I tried to capture the activities of fishing community near the eastern sea coast line of Sagar Island, Bakhali, Paradeep and Puri area.

Offering Kumkma Water
Rituals are in the centre of everything we do, this is the way we live and how the human generation will continue. It is our responsibility to pass on our culture and all the rituals to the next generation so that it can live for many more years to come. This was shot in a small town of Karnataka, Shravanabelagola, where thousands of devotees especially from Jain religion come every month to offer their prayers to Lord Bahubhali. At this time the priest was offering kumkma water (red) right onto the idol feet, a memorable moment. This image also reminds that even though devotees come and go, the ritual has to continue day in day out and the priest is the one who sacrifices and live his life serving the almighty.
Acrobatics
Sri Lankan Leopard is the top predator in Sri Lanka. They are solitary hunters, with the exception of females with young. Like all felids, cubs of leopards also learn tricks of life from their mother. They learn through playful activities with the siblings. A dream shot for me as always I and couple of my friends frequently go there and always wished a shot like this as a blackbuck is standing under the sun and luckily got it ! The tricky thing here in this photo is to guess in which direction the king is seeing; towards the sun or the camera ?

Sunset and Flamingos
This is Pulicat Lake, which is the second largest lagoon in India. Every year thousands of flamingos visit this place. I spent eight hours photographing these birds at this place, and this was the image I made when the sun was setting. I spent almost six hours shooting these birds sitting in the water with my camera on an icebox to get low angle perspective and the sun reflecting off the water.

Beauty is in the details!
Jumping spiders have always been by favorite ones. Where ever I am, I always will have an eye looking for these cute little ones. I have found numerous ones in and around my home and among them, this one in the frame below, "Jumping Spider (Plexippus paykulli) female" is the one I found the most. I see them almost everyday. Such a elegant, curious and active spiders. This click was also taken from my home, last year August. I learn my flash techniques, exposure settings and diffuser results with them as my subjects. Developing a beautiful memories with them these days. More spiders to come. For now enjoy this macro details in full screen.
Beautiful Sunrise
It was around 7am in Talchapar , some of the Black bucks that were gazing into the grasses. I spotted the most beautiful Male , probably the dominant male of the heard, cause he was totally curious to know about me and was watching my activities through out the time. I kept my pace slow and was dressed in camouflage color in order to reduce disturbance. And i was lying down on the muddy land so the shy herd of black bucks can come closer to me . And I kept the Sun and the black buck parallel to my lens. The toughest challenge is that animal will move, I also changed my camera angle accordingly. For that, I needed to crawl and move a lot on the ground. And clicked my desired moment. Completely handheld shot. Exif : F/5.6, 1/160 sec., ISO 640 , FL 400mm , Exposure bias: 0, Spot metering, No flash used. Canon 7D mark II + Canon 100-400mm IS II
Counter Attack
I Visited Mangalajodi Wetland, from Odisha in India, with the Intention of Observing & Clicking the Migratory Birds... During the Trip, I was Lucky Enough to Witness this Sequence, The Purple Heron Killed a Big Fish for its Lunch… The Purple Heron was Busy in Aligning the Fish to Gulp it down… In a Sudden Moment, A Brahminy Kite Appeared in the Scene and Directly Attacked the Purple Heron with the Intention of Snatching it Away from it, Typical Predator!!! But the Purple Heron had a Heart of Steel, it did not let go of its Hard Earned Kill and Fought Valiantly by Spreading its Wings to Distract the Brahminy Kite and Cleverly it let go of the Fish... It was an Outstanding Experience for Me to Witness Such a Rare Natural History Moment where the Brave Purple Heron Counter Attacked to Protect its Kill and Food from the Brahminy Kite…

Color of joy
Red is the color of extremes. It’s the color of passionate love, seduction, violence, danger, anger, and adventure. Our prehistoric ancestors saw red as the color of fire and blood – energy and primal life forces – and most of red’s symbolism today arises from its powerful associations in the past.
Baya weaver
The baya weaver is a weaverbird found across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Flocks of these birds are found in grasslands, cultivated areas, scrub and secondary growth and they are best known for their hanging retort shaped nests woven from leaves. These nest colonies are usually found on thorny trees or palm fronds and the nests are often built near water or hanging over water where predators cannot reach easily. They are widespread and common within their range but are prone to local, seasonal movements mainly in response to rain and food availability.

Riding in Heaven
The giant mirror that the Mandarmani beach turns itself into during early hours of winter is a perfect place for shooting some stunning photos. As I saw this man riding his cycle down the beach against a dramatic sky, I knew I had to take the shot. The streaking sunlight from the left rounded up the composition. I don't know if you can see this, but in the bag in the back of the cycle he was carrying a live goat.
