Resilience on Chalkboard [TOP100]
In recent years Burkina Faso, one of the poorest and safest countries in Africa, has been the target of more than 300 attacks by terrorist groups linked to Dáesh.
Education in French and teachers have become the center of the attacks that has closed more than 1000 schools, has left 150,000 children without classes only in the last year, and has made abandon their work and seek refuge to 60% of the teachers.
Children are afraid. They don't go to school anymore. They fear an attack that kills them and they have started studying at home. Improvised chalkboards, regiments of children learning from each other (the older ones teach the younger ones)… great whirlpool of creative and culturally resilience.
“Education generates trust. Trust generates hope. Hope generates peace”.
